Peaceful Warrior Movie is a Gem

If you have not seen “The Peaceful Warrior” movie, I highly recommend that you do. Of course, reading the book is best of all. I read it many years ago, probably 15 or so. Revisiting it when the movie surfaced has been a wonderful experience for me. It has brought me more in the moment, focused on making every moment EXTRAORDINARY!. SO I have been doing something fun and powerful…I always like to find ways to have fun and create my life…I feel my main job here is to create my life intentionaly so I am paying attention to everything in the moment as much as possible. When I really focus in I find that things taste better, feelings more intense and enjoyable things are more vibrant looking, being in the NO is really

Peaceful Warrior” movie, i highly recommend it, the book is great and what hit me most powerfully was the reminder of being in the NOW, the present, the point of power is in the present, NOW is the only time you can affect, there are no ordinary moments ..create every moment extraordinary!! I hate the idea of ordinary , it is so boring.

So here are 3 tips from my upcoming “Create Your Own reality Now” course. on how to stay in the NOW and create what you want next at the same time.

Benefits of being in the now. are enjoying ore fully, feeling more deeply, tasting more intently, sensations are more, notricing things you do not normally see/hear/feel. Being aware of things, possibilities, people, places, opportunities, hearing and seeing what you donot seer, conecting deeper with people,

1. Pay attention in the shower or a rain storm, pool, jacuzzi. ANywher you are interacting with water. Totally focus on it the drops, the feel, the movement, the sound, the smell, like in the movie.

2. Anytime you find yourself not asking for what you want or see something is not the way you like then instead of focusing on the fact you have in the moment something you do not want, but instead think about what you do want and how you would want things to be different than they are now. Think only of how you want them to be, no longer about what you do not want. Then Begin to think of more and more details, feelings, sounds, smells, tastes and every nuance of how you would want it to be, exactly. Do not allow your mind talk to tell you you can’t have something or something is not possible. Do not stop to judge whether you are worthy of having it that way, do not think about HOW you will do it, or even if you feel it is possible. We are not interested in realistic points of view in this excercise… we want as pure wanting as you can tap in to. Pretend to be a kid if you have to , let go of any responsibilities or ideas that have told you you can’t do or be or have, act as if” you are playing let’s pretend ” as a kid and you get to pick whatever you want tobe, have and do…anything!!! It can be silly, it can be fun, serious, big, little, anything. YOU CREATE YOUR REALITY! Period.

Then begin to feel like you would feel if that were true now. How would you think? How would you talk? What would you buy? do? Who would you be with? Where would you be? What would you be doing?

All the way down to details like, how would you stand? What groceries would you buy and where from?

I am creating my life now, join me. Take one idea and focus on it, create it on purpose, intend it as often as you can think of it…getting dressed, shopping, cooking, working out…I love to entertain, i love lots of friends, I love to bring people joy bring people together, i love an interesting conversation. I am living on m own again after over 26 years with someone who was not very social. I am feeling what it is like to be a social person and a home that people love to come to. I am intentionally choosing different groceries, to be ready for people to come over, neighborhood kids all the way to adult parties. I bring people together, what does that mean I have in house for people, what is my house like?

I’m not sure what Ebert and Roeper had to say about this movie but I’m here to tell you it’s one that should not be missed. I believe what The Secret has done for inspirational documentaries The Peaceful Warrior will do for inspirational dramas.

This movie actually was released in very limited viewing areas some time ago but never at a location near me. So I waited and watched for it actually hoping to pick up the DVD when it was released. So to my surprise months later, I luck up on an internet link to free tickets for opening weekend, now a much wider release which included my location. I tell you the Law of Attraction is always in action.

I take my fourteen year old and off we go. Let’s just say I was already feeling good because I didn’t have to whip out my wallet. I don’t have the words to relay just how inspired this movie made me feel. I’ve followed Nick Nolte’s career here and there, I find this movie to be some of his best work ever. I liked the fact that he was not all perfect looking and cuddly, his scratchy voice is his trademark. Yeah, it does get a little cheesy in some spots but these are very minor if you’re able to look at the big picture.

After the movie, my fourteen year old and I talked and recited quotes from the movie all the way home. If this doesn’t sound amazing to you, that’s because you don’t know my son. This young man doesn’t waste his words and if I can pull one to two sentences a day out of him I’m lucky. We both left feeling good, motivated and inspired. Maybe these quotes from the movie and Dan Millman’s book Way of The Peaceful Warrior on which the movie is based will inspire you, give you food for thought and make you feel good.

I’d gladly pay this time to see the movie again and most certainly will add this one to my DVD collection right next to The Secret and What the Bleep Do We Know. I take these quotes and add them to my son’s school agenda, a type of notebook his school uses to track homework assignments and parental communication. So instead of just signing my name every night, I write a quote or a positive kudo for my son to read to himself in school the next day.

    I too read the book approximately 15 years ago and to my surprise It was playing on satellite so I recorded. Very powerful! It should be shown in all the public junior/high schools in America :-0)

    Hi Nan…
    Its been wonderful to watch the movie and what you said is absolutely true. These days I am studying the law of attraction and wondering how it applies to peaceful warrior…Interesting to know? I think it is to find the links. My other curiosity is to trace back the law of attraction and what the peaceful warrior has to say to those people who were the real true example of such qualities.

    Hope I made some sense here 🙂
